Can someone explain this to me?

If you take someone else’s work and publish it under your name, it violates the copyright. But, when someone gives you there work and asks for your help on it then you find it on your computer a year later, this also violates the copyright? Wtf. 

She *gave* me her work and *asked* for my help on it. Now she’s complaining that I plagiarized her work when it just sat there! I’m not profiting; I’m not even publishing it. 

God, she is seriously pissing me off.
